Introduction (from the first edition of Virtual Pose ® Children & Teens)
"This new chapter in the VIRTUAL POSE ® series redefines the way to draw, paint, and sculpt children when they are not around to use as a reference, and provided they have the patience to sit motionless! Indeed, it is often said that photographing children is quite a challenge. Therefore, when several children's book illustrators suggested we dedicate a volume of VIRTUAL POSE ® to the (little) human figure, I didn't know what to expect when it came time to ask a child to hold a particular pose for minutes on end, on the legendary VIRTUAL POSE ® platform.
Well, as it turned out, except for the occasional bouts of laughter, I am proud to to say that all the adults were on the best behavior, allowing true professionals to practice their art of modeling so that children's illustrators can have a visual reference tool unlike any other.
You will notice in this edition that we're indirectly introducing the concept of clothed poses, where we can study the creases and folds. A notable aspect of this project was asking our junior models to be "themselves." In VIRTUAL POSE 1, 2, and 3, the focus is on the shape and form; here, we introduce the engaging element of facial expression.
Like its older siblings, this benchmark entry in the world of celebrating children in artistic expression, offers a rich portfolio of poses that the artist can rotate a full 360 degrees on the computer screen, zoom in and out, and print on demand.
Good things do come in small packages!"
